چکیده

In Spain, water use in agriculture is expected to become limited by resources the future. It pertinent study effect of decreased irrigation on presence pests, plant damage, and arthropod communities a super-intensive olive orchard examined from 2017 2019. Arthropods were studied with visual vacuum sampling methods two treatments (T1—control T2—Regulated Deficit Irrigation (RDI)). Univariate analyses showed that total abundance was significantly greater T1 than T2 2018 2019, mostly due Diptera Nematocera. Visual revealed feeding damage produced Eriophyidae (Trombidiformes) lower 2019: 10–40% shoots affected late season compared 50–60% for T1. The symptoms caused Palpita unionalis Hübner (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) Zelleria oleastrella (Milliere) Yponomeutidae) less Multivariate principal response curves significant differences between strategies 2019 data both methods. conclusion, schemes restricted (T2—RDI) help reduce several types pests crops, especially those feed plants’ new sprouts.

Olive oil quality and ripening in super-high-density Arbequina orchard.

BACKGROUND The aim of this work was to evaluate the evolution of the quality of extra virgin olive oil obtained from a super-high-density Arbequina orchard, under a drip irrigation system, throughout the ripening process. For this objective, physicochemical, nutritional and sensory parameters were studied. In addition, the oxidative stability, pigment content and colour evolution of olive oil w...

Yield and Water Productivity Responses to Irrigation Cut-off Strategies after Fruit Set Using Stem Water Potential Thresholds in a Super-High Density Olive Orchard

An increase in the land area dedicated to super-high density olive orchards has occurred in Chile in recent years. Such modern orchards have high irrigation requirements, and optimizing water use is a priority. Moreover, this region presents low water availability, which makes necessary to establish irrigation strategies to improve water productivity. An experiment was conducted during four con...

Future Climate Forcings and Olive Yield in a Mediterranean Orchard

The olive tree is one of the most characteristic rainfed trees in the Mediterranean region. Observed and forecasted climate modifications in this region, such as the CO2 concentration and temperature increase and the net radiation, rainfall and wind speed decrease, will likely alter vegetation water stress and modify productivity. In order to simulate how climatic change could alter soil moistu...

Arthropod pest management in organic crops.

Burgeoning consumer interest in organically produced foods has made organic farming one of the fastest growing segments of agriculture. This growth has not been supported adequately by rigorous research to address challenges such as arthropod pest management. The research that has been conducted, however, is complemented by research in aspects of conventional agriculture that may have applicabi...

Influence of herbicide tolerant soybean production systems on insect pest populations and pest-induced crop damage.

Conventional soybean weed management and transgenic herbicide-tolerant management were examined to assess their effects on soybean insect pest populations in south Georgia in 1997 and 1998. Soybean variety had very little impact on the insect species observed, except that maturity group effects were observed for stink bug, primarily Nezara viridula (L.), population densities on some sampling da...
